  1. i dunno. why does it matter? normaly when you purchase an internet deal it is unlimited internet.

  2. If it's one computer then just look to see if they are on. ;)

But multiple computers is a little harder.

Right click the little computer and the bottom right hand corner and see if anyone is on.

    That should work, I think,

It doesn't matter for me cause we have unlimited internet.

Anyone can use your internet if you don't have a password, if you don't, I would advise making one, and when your friends try to log on they will have to enter a password, and then you know who's online or not.

    Hope this is useful. ;)

  3. "my quota running like water."

Are you paying based on usage (how much data transmits across your Internet connection)?

Most consumer wireless/wired router do not offer any type of monitoring capabilities.  You will have to purchase a separate appliance and place it in line to monitor usage (probably way beyond your technological realm).

  4. I assume you mean like you have wireless and they're piggybacking with your permission?

Some routers have a way of monitoring how much each computer uses.

Otherwise I don't know of any real way to check...but make sure you secure the network with an encryption passkey (and give it to your friends who you allow to use) or you may be giving half your neighborhood free intenet, running up your quotas.

And no, not everyone buys unlimited internet, many people use cheaper plans that restrict by day or month - especially for satellite and cellular.  It can get pricey if you run over.
