How IMF & World Bank help the backward countries?

  1. they don't really as most of the development loans that they give are at high rates of interest and conditional on the country selling it's natural resources and utilities to private western countries.


  2. Though the World Bank and IMF were formed with the objective of helping the poor economies to develop... they have done nothing but increased their problems. Since the IMF loans have entered Africa its international debt has increased to 400%

  3. Aid to the Third World has done little to stimulate development but a great deal to perpetuate poverty and national and lending bureaucracies. In place of aid and loans, unhindered corporate capitalism and free trade will open the gates to economic growth and self-determination for underdeveloped countries. It is recognized by many observers that there remains much debate about the cures for underdevelopment.
