  1. Colleges and universities only look at your grades back to 9th grade. That's when your GPA starts to matter.

However, that doesn't mean you should slack off and not pay attention during 7th and 8th grade. That'll just make high school that much harder.

  2. Depends on what you mean by "important."

Future employers and colleges don't generally look at grades earned prior to ninth grade.  But there are exceptions because sometimes the grades are included on a high school transcript;  if a course was considered a high school level course, it might be included on a high school transcript and thus will likely be seen by a college (or prospective employer) years from now and will help determine whether you get into a particular college or not (or get the job or not).  So, if you are taking a high school level course in 7th or 8th grade, the grades are very important since they can impact your future path.

If you are taking regular, middle school (or junior high school) level classes, the grades won't usually be viewed by colleges nor by future employers.  That might make some people think that the grades are unimportant.

On the other hand, few people jump from getting bad grades in 7th or 8th grade to getting good ones in high school.  Good grades show that the material was learned well enough to have a solid foundation for the high school classes and that the student has developed good study habits.  Bad grades make it doubtful that the material was learned well enough to be able to do well later on.  And bad habits are hard to break; if a student has been earning bad grades, it is hard to change those habits and go on to earn good grades.  (Doesn't mean that it can't be done if someone's really determined, but it does mean that few people manage to be determined enough to change the habits they have in place.)

  3. Well, it's always good to have good grades..but to be honest, all the grades are just building blocks until you get to highschool. You must get good grades in highschool so you better start practising now. lol

  4. All the way up to highschool grades are that important. No job you get will they check your grades from those grades grade 12 is the most important grades then. But it's still important to get good grades due to the fact they are building blocks, and help you learn to study good for your highschool years and get good habits for those years too.

So to answer your question simply they are not super important but there not just there. they help you in the future.

    Hope I helped

  5. If you don't have good grades in seventh and eighth, it is harder to get good grades in high school, and those are the ones that count.

  6. everythings important!! but if your in 8th grade, you hafta focus more if you wanna go to high school

  7. 8th is suuuuuppper important. For me thats what started my GPA.

7th grade also if you have advanced classes. i have a 2.8 cuz of 7th grade. i got a C and it lowered my GPA

  8. Your grades in the seventh (7) and eighth (8) grade are not as important as your grades in high school.
