They are both easily accessed (drugs tend to be more accessible than alcohol for underage users) and provide instant gratification with an eventual letdown.  With fast food, you feel good because of the flavor and fullness it provides while heroin overwhelms your dopamine receptors.  I am pretty sure fast food actually sets off the dopamine receptors as well, though not to the extent of heroin.

the difference is that one is physically and mentally addictive, and withdrawl can be so serious it results in death.  Fast food is over consumed because people who eat it can give it up, they just don't know any better
