  3. The only ways that I can think that geometry would be realated to snowboarding is in the design of the snowboards. There are complex shapes that accomplish several things:

    1. Camber - the arc of the base of the board is called camber and it allows some of the weight of the rider to be distributed to the tip and tail so the pressure is more even on the base. Without the camber, most of the weight would be on the center of the board right under the rider and the board would slide slower (too much friction in one spot) and would be hard to control.

    2. Edge geometry - the shape of the edge is very important in advanced riding and determines what arc the board will take when enough pressure is put on the edge to force the board to track (not slide sideways) which is called carving. This natural arc of the board changes with the rider's angle to the snow allowing a different turn radius depending on the rider.
