How Josep Guardiola has been lining his team up? (Part 3)
The holding midfield position was taken by Sergio Busquets. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 was to be rested by Josep Guardiola.
The centre midfield position was taken by Xavi Hernandez who appeared for most of the games. The Spaniard was only replaced by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Keita-c33177 or Thiago Alcantara whenever he could not appear in the first team due to an injury or he was to be rested by Guardiola.
Andres Iniesta featured in the centre attacking midfield role. He connected the midfield with the strikers and the only player who replaced him in the team was Thiago Alcantara. The young Spaniard showed how he is an attack minded midfielder and he was often
played by Josep Guardiola to take first team experience.
The front three were rarely changed by the Catalan coach. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pedro-c29582 Rodriguez
played on the right flank.
The three were simply phenomenal and had a few suitable replacements. The Spanish youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ibrahim-Afellay-c16547.
Guardiola had a lot of options available to play up front. Andres Iniesta could also feature on the left flank with Seydou Keita and Xavi Hernandez forming a centre midfield partnership alongside Sergio Busquets in the holding midfield position.
This season Barcelona have recruited two extraordinary players – http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 and Cesc Fabregas. Currently, Barcelona have a complete squad as Sanchez can always replace any player who is performing on the flanks while Cesc Fabregas can play for Xavi Hernandez.
However, Josep Guardiola looks like a coach who will test these players in the first team. Despite the availability of Pedro Rodriguez and Xavi Hernandez during the Super Copa final against Real Madrid, Guardiola decided to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara and Alexis
Sanchez in the first team.
It was a risk which Guardiola was willing to take. He tested Alexis Sanchez against Real Madrid in his debut game and played him for the full 90 minutes while Thiago Alcantara featured for most of the game until he was substituted with Xavi Hernandez in
the second half. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 drew the game 2-2 away from home – a result worth cherishing.
The second leg was played at the Nou Camp and Guardiola played the same team which featured against Manchester United during the UEFA Champions League final which Barcelona won.
The Catalan Giants won the game 3-2 with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 scoring two goals and assisting one. Cesc Fabregas came on but did not replace Xavi Hernandez. It was made sure that Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas can operate together in the midfield.
With these three midfielders in the Barcelona line-up, it is definitely going to be hard for the opposition to win the ball.
Can Josep Guardiola win more titles with so much competition in the team, or is he going to face selection crises? That question can only be answered through time; however, currently Barcelona are the strongest sides in Europe.
