  1. You do not really tell us wht you mean by land use, other than agriculture. But is that removing the variation you are asking about?

Now if we talk about pasture land and compare it with intensively tilled and cropped land, we are still not into discussing the attributes of those uses that change everything. If for instance the pasture land is over pastured, or if the land goes right down to a stream and cattle chew up the stream banks walking in and out, defecate there, then we are not discussing sound pasture management as an assumption of this use of land.

If we discuss the tilled and cropped land, is it on such a slope that it will have water erosion, or is it exposed to winds that will erode it? Is stover being left on the soil to protect it from pounding rains, to act as a wind protection, to prevent dehydration of the soil by forming a mulch?

Or does the operator like to keep all the stover tilled under, or sold to make bio fuels? Burned to make it easier to till? removed to provide a salable product like bedding for poultry?

Is the land being used repeatedly to grow any crop other than corn or hay?

There are ever so many variations on any given land use, that we have to ask you to try to deal with something a lot more restricted in topic range.

  2. i've not majored in stuff like that, but i won't mind trying.

    um.

if the land is used for industrial purposes, then there would be lots of toxins, chemicals and other waste discharge from the factories and these substance would seep into the soil, or if it's gas and other air pollutants, it would harm the environment, including the people living around these industries. Lung problems etc. but my interest would be to curb this problem. You could possibly impose fines for factories that discharge over a certain limit of pollutants. or you would have to turn to another line of entreprenuership
