    At night they have the option of folding to avoid nocturnal herbivory. This is called nyctinastic leaf movement. It is a circadian rhythmic movement in legumes like the acacias and clovers. It is controlled by water pressure in the plant so it is fast and reversible unlike hormone driven movements. It is a reversible response regulated by light.
