make sure you change enough so it doesnt smell or leak.

you cant ask us how long it will last with the level of your flow if we dont know the level of absorbancy of the pad.

About every 3 hours. I did this for years and it was a pain. It also depends on the thickness of the pad. Ugh. I suggest using heavy flow Tampons. If you're not comfortable yet, get the pads that come with a wipe attached to them. Best thing they ever did!

You should change it often and use a babywipe to cleanse,  each time. Do not let it get too full. Perhaps each time you use the restroom, if your heavy, and less if you are not heavy. And for goodness sake take a bath or shower each day, to prevent ripeness.
