Question:

How Long Can You Really Wear 30 Continuous Wear Contacts?

9 years ago, I started wearing 2 week disposable contacts. However, after wearing these for a year (and changing them out regularly), my eye doctor advised me to change to Focus Night and Day, 30 Day contacts because my eyes were not allowing enough oxygen to reach my eyes, and these new contacts would. Ever since then, my eyes have been great with 0 infections, and most of the time, I wear these contacts for 2-3 months - either when they fall out or feel funny. Every year, I go to the eye doctor, and I am told that my eyes look healthy and that there are no problems. I asked if my blood vessels look normal, and every year they say that they look very healthy.

I told my eye doctor that I tend to wear my contacts 2-3 months because I forget to change them out since they wear so good. He said that that was probably ok, but he really wouldn't recommend it. How safe is this really? I plan on changing them out every month because I feel that this is the safest option. Anyone else do this?

  1. I wear 30-day continuous, I also wear them 2-3 months then change, I've been wearing them about 2 years now with no problems at all. As  long as you make sure to keep everything very clean it'll be fine.

  2. think of this as changing your oil every 10,000 miles instead of every 3000 or 5000.  NO mechanic is going to tell you to do that.

  3. No, nevere use the lenses for more than one month. u never noe wht is happening to the eye althought it looks fine on the surface. Nite and day is very comfortable lenses.
