How Long Do Bettas Live?

I have had mine for over 2 years now ..

And he doesn't seem to be eating, he looks really pale, and he doesn't really swim around any more ..

Is he dying?

  1. Bettas live 2 years sorry to tell u that actually if u had him over 2 years u doing good. hes way past his time.

    they usually live 2-3 years

  3. The life span of a betta fish is dependant on how well cared for it is. If properly cared for, a betta can live as long as five years. On average though, you can expect a betta to be around for three years. Take good care of you betta, do frequent water changes, feed qualily food (DO NOT OVER FEED), keep them warm (around 78 degrees) and give them the largest jar you can find.

  5. The average lifespan is somewhere around 2-3 years, although there are cases of bettas living much longer.  However, from what you've described, it sounds like sadly your guy may be nearing his end.

  6. They live from 2-4 years. They might live longer if they are very healthy.

    I am sorry to say but it is very likely he might be dying. I hate to say it. I have once read that they sometimes starve themselves because they are not happy. If you are really worried you should look up on-line about what to do when your betta stops eating.

  7. bettas live about 2-3 years.  yours has lived out the average lifespan so it sadly may be at the end of its rope.  

  8. he is kinda old as far as battas go .. he can be sicke  as a average 1-5 years  maybe try a bigger bowl isaddly think he is dying but good luck

  9. They live about 2.5-3 years and some cases Ive heard they live up to 6 years of age.

  10. He's either sick or dying... I had 3 that lived over 2 yrs and one or 2 lived for 5 years.
