How long it actually takes the ship to sail from Japan to UK has nothing to do with the waiting time for a car not immediately available over here.  Car companies do not ship one car at a time. They send large consignments and often whole shiploads, and if you have a car on order it will only go when the whole consignment is assembled. Hence people can wait months for delivery although the actually journey may have only taken a couple of weeks or so.
