  1. By train you could go via Bristol  to Poole 3 hours


  2. Depends where you want to start and finish... both are fairly large... a few hours by car, maybe a bit longer by train as it is a little fiddly for trains, Dorset that is... you'll probably have to go via Reading or London.

    If its by train then you are looking at 4 to 5 hours, again depending on start and finish. Usually changing at Bristol or London, there may be a Reading option. Birmingham to Bournemouth is about 4.5 hours.

  4. it will take roughly 2.5- 3  hours to get to Dorset Border from West mids if you travel by car. The best and only route to consider by road is M40 - A34 through Newbury - M3 - M27 towards Bournemouth/Ringwood - A31 to Dorset.

    By train can be tricky as you would need to change at Reading and southampton i think.
