It really depends what state you live and want to practice in.  I live in Iowa and its takes 60 credits of basics credits, then a year of mortuary science classes.  Then you have to take your boards and do your internship.  Once you are finished your internship you can get your license!!  In CO I don't think you have to go to school at all, so look into your states requirements.  Good Luck!
