  1. when your trainer thinks your ready. I started on the first day that I went, but every trainer does things diferently

  2. EH! What are you on about mate!

Just the other day you said you were fighting?

And to think I wished you good luck.

STOP lying you have never being to a boxing class in your life!

How sad I am for you!

  3. Depends how good you are, so listen to your coach. No matter how long, you will still feel like you are dying after just 2 rounds.

  4. Sparring is practice, pick someone out in your gym and ask them if they'll spar with you. Your first bouts awhile away if you just started but as long as your a member to your gym you should be able to get a ref in the ring and get an exhibition going..

  5. You shouldn't begin sparring until you have a good knowledge of how to execute a jab, right/left hand, and hook. Your trainer should have you able to throw those basic shots, along with the uppercut, and body shots. You should have a firm grasp of how to bob and weave, slip, and parry a jab. After you have effectively grasped the concept of the delivery of those punches, as well as the basic defensive moves you need to make to avoid getting pummeled, your trainer should put you in the ring with a very experienced fighter who has nothing to prove so he doesn't crack you really good and cause fear of getting hit. I've seen a lot of guys ruined because trainers stick a green guy in there with another amateur and the green guy gets a Pabst Blue Ribbon *** waxin'. You have to treat the green guy like a new pony being groomed for the races. Don't break his confidence. The green guy should not fight until he throws effective punches, does NOT shy away when punches come flying at him, and is able to handle the heat when the other cook turns on all the burners.

  6. Listen, coaches should lead in the advice of this question. If you just pick people randomly from the gym and there are no coaches to supervise your asking nothing but trouble, remember million dollar baby when those guys took advantage of the "slow" kid who wanted to be a fighter? They beat the h**l out of HIM!!! That stuff really happens if there is not a responsible coach at hand. More importantly are you covered by USABOXING, do you have your license? $32.00 per year and you have the privilege of boxing in your club.
