  1. Properly cared for, an indoor pet rabbit should live 10 years or more.  Some even live up to 20.  Factors will decrease that however, such as living outdoors (average goes down to 5-7 years), or having an unspayed female (average lifespan 5 years due to a very high rate of reproductive cancer).

  2. your sister probably have a mini rex or simply a rex rabbit.yes, its a rabbit breed that's popular amongst keepers.

so your sister has a 4 year old rabbit, right?and so you've researched what's the average life span?actually, the average life span is 10 years old.

it depends on the care of the owner for the rabbit if it'll live longer or shorter.usually, the large rabbits are the ones who has the shortest life span compared to small breeds.

life span depends on these things given by the owner:

-love and care for the rabbit

    -passion for keeping

-money if ever the rabbit gets sick

with those things, the rabbit can actually live longer.

a rabbit's maximum life span is up 18-20 years.that is if you care enough for the rabbit.

so assuming your sister's rex is 4 years old,it may still live for another 16 years with proper care.

    i hope i helped!

  3. The average lifespan of a rabbit is about 7-10 years.

Lifespan also depends on the history of the rabbit. On average, purebred rabbits live longer because they are specifically bred for good health and genetics. And generally, mixed breeds have a shorter lifespan for that reason. However, longevity also depends on the rabbit's diet and lifestyle. As with humans, an overweight rabbit who lives on a diet of sweets and goodies will not live as long as a healthy rabbit who has plenty of playtime outside their cage daily to run around and exercise.

I have known rabbits to live as long as 16 years old.

  4. It depends on the rabbits health. Mine was very healthy and it lived 6 years so I don't think it can live over 7 years, but I could be wrong. I think the rabbit will live until it turns 7 (: Tell me how it goes!

    Hope I helped!

  5. 12-18 is most true but the one that is really true is 15-20.

    HOPE IT HELPED

  6. Well we've had several rabbits over the years, and one in particular lived for at least 8 years, was three years when we got her, and lived for another 5... so I'd say for the most part rabbits will live 7-12 years, depending on the breed etc....

  7. The oldest rabbit I have ever know lived to be 15, but that is quite an anomaly.  In my experience, pet rabbits live to be about 7 years old.  Good luck.

  8. We have two rex's here and they've been alive for about 4 years, but the life expectancy of them if taken well care of is potentially up to 20 years. I really depends mostly on you taking care of the rabbit, watching its eating and social habits, making sure you are not scaring it to much or picking it up to much, and not over or under feeding it, and make sure it always has water, always.

One thing always make sure it eats when you feed it on your schedule, if you notice its not eating more then maybe a day and a half, it could very well die within a matter of days.
