honestly, it depends on his next match, i dont think theyd give him machida, maybe if he beats one more name...

griffin could very well lose his next fight...light heavyweight is an unpredictable division...

when anderson destroys james irvin he can fight griffin next and hold 2 belts at once...its only a matter of time.............

he'll probly keep it a while, seeing as how a lot of people dont think he will. Forrest proves us wrong all the time, we didnt think he would be champ, but now look. I say as long as people doubt forrest it's gonna keep his fire alight and he's gonna keep proving his critics wrong time and time again.

*forrest and rampage rematch isn't gonna be his 1st defense, that would be wrong. rampage is gonna have to fight his way back up.

depends on who he fights next

i think either rampage, chuck, shogun and wandy(all of them on top of their game) can beat griffin.

but maybe dana will put him in there with machida which would be a interesting fight but i cant see machida stoping forest. it would eihter be a machida desicion or a griffin k.o.

so not very long is the answer but he deserves his spot in the limelight in what is the toughest division in mma today.

I think Forrest will hold the belt for a while. He will defend it a few times... I don't think he will hold the belt as long as Chuck Liddell, but he will have his time as champ. People still doubt Forrest, but I think he will continue to prove himself as a legitimate threat and champ. Being the underdog gives Forrest a good advantage.

I think Griffen will keep THE belt for a while.  I really have always wanted to see him and Chuck fight ever since Chuck was his coach on the first season on TUF guy!
