  1. You will get your travel documents in the mail or from your travel agent about a month in advance. All that info will be in your documents. With princess cruises, you get this info when you book your cabin, because you usually pick which cabin you want from a list of what's available.

  2. On Carnival specifically, they normally will not give the cabin out until the day of sailing.  You can call 1800carnival to verify that.  But sometimes a few days before they may divulge it to you.

The good news is that most cabins are identical, the only difference is inside (no window), outside (window), or balcony.  Most of the time you get the same TYPE you paid for-- but they may give you a higher deck.  And if you are lucky, it could be something better than the type you booked!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a great cruise regardless of what room you are in!

  3. your travel agent should tell you if you have one they usually buy a block of rooms 20 or 40 depending , or more depending on how many they expect to sell , or get a real person at carnival to tell you.

  4. Call your travel agent about 2 weeks prior---or when they do assign it it will show up on your pre cruise registration....

  5. watch your travel docks on the carnival site and it will be there about 4 to 6 weeks ahead of time

  6. You bought a guarantee cabin.  You saved a little by allowing the cruise line to pick your cabin for you.  You will find out what cabin you are actually in when you drop off your luggage at the pier.

However, you seem to want to find out what cabin you are in before then.  There is a little trick.  Pretend to order a gift for yourself through Carnival.  As long as you don't put in a credit card number you will not be charged.

At any rate, this trick works sometimes as the computer will sometimes show the cabin number the gift is being sent to.  However, since the cruise line can change the cabin number up to the day the ship sails, this is not fool proof.

Think of it like a present.  You don't get to open it and see what is inside until the day you sail.

I actually booked my first guarantee for July 2008.  No way am I going to try and find out what cabin I have until I get to the dock.

  7. 3 weeks before your cruise leave you will get an information packet that will state this. Have a great time*
