How Long can ethernet cables get?

I need an ethernet cable to set up for xbox live and i was wondering how long you can get them and how much?

i have an excellent "geek squad" ethernet cord that is like 30 feet and i i think it was like 10-20 bucks

completely worth it though

Ethernet cable, aka cat5, can be run up to 328 ft before you start to get signal issues.

As for buying the cat5, newegg has a nice deal, 100ft for $10

Max length for CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables is 300 feet. Anything beyond that may lead to loss of signal, etc.

But if you are asking how long can you buy one at the store? Probably about 50 or 100 feet. I think I've seen them at Best buy at those lengths before. Office Depot, Office Max and Staples should have them too. Or you could find a Ma and Pa computer shop in your area that can either get one for you or make one for you to a specific length.

Heck, I could make you one right this second.
