Question:

How Many Days Must I Get My Immunization Shots Prior To Starting School?

Okay, so, here's the situation. Right no, we're stuck halfway across the world, and my dad is at our home. One day, he recieves this letter stating my sister needs to get a shot before she can attend school. However, the predicament is that we won't be arriving home until about four/three days before school starts.

Oh, and there's also to consider that this question is for my sister, who is attending sixth grade, but she's already applied (and accepted into the middle school/enrolled), so, will she be able to make it on time if she gets the shot a few days before school starts?

Also, I'm not sure what type of shot it us, so it might be those that require a few doses over time- 'cause I think those are required at some point of your life too. So, say she got the first dose, will she still be able to attend school?

And if we write out a presonal reason as too why we couldn't get the shots in time, will she still be able to attend school?

Thanks in advance~

  1. Immunization records need to be up to date by the first day of school.  It doesn't matter if she gets the shots the day before school starts or the month before.  As long as it's up to date by the time she walks into the school.  You can get shots at the health department without an appointment and I believe they're free if they're required by the school.  As for shots that need to be given over time, I think those are done with when you're a baby.
