  1. 6 Indians have won Nobel Price.  They are:

    1) Rabindranath Tagore ( Nobel Prize for Literature in1913)

    2)  Sir C.V. Raman (Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman)

    Nobel Prize for Physics  in 1930

    3)  Dr. Hargobind Khorana (Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology in 1968)

    4)  Dr. Subramaniam Chandrasekar (Nobel Prize for physics in 1983)

    5) Mother Teresa (Nobel Prize for peace in 1979)

    Though she was born in  Skoplje, Yugoslavia , Mother Teresa dedicated her life to helping the poor, the sick, and the dying around the world, particularly those in India, working through the Missionaries Of Charity in Calcutta.

    6) Dr. Amartya Sen (Nobel Prize for Economics in 1998)

    Further the following persons won Nobel Prize Laureates related to India:

    1)  Rudyard Kipling, British writer, Rudyard Kipling wrote novels, poems and short stories -- mostly set in India and Burma (now known as Myanmar). He was the 1907 Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature "in consideration of the power of observation, originality of imagination, virility of ideas and remarkable talent for narration, which characterize the creations of this world-famous author."

    2) V.S. Naipaul, British writer of Indian origin, Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature 2001 "for having united perceptive narrative and incorruptible scrutiny in works that compel us to see the presence of suppressed histories."
