Now Do You Think They Are Vicious, Or Misunderstood?

I must admit, i cried when watching this video.

It is sad but just like Rots and Dobermans they can be not good for certain aspects. This type of dog is not for a first time owner and I would think just as most places require u neuter your dog or something I would like to see an act for this breed on obedience training a must, its all about how you train the dog and most pople use this dogs sadly for fighting or guard dogs.  Its not the pitbull that is vicious but its how they are treated and taught.

Why do Pit owners constantly feel the need to prove Pits are not vicious?

You will not change people's opinion of them.  I believe it is more so the owners causing the problems but I can not over look the fact Pits are #1 in dog fighting for a reason, they are most frequently reported in attacks for a reason and not because a reporter 10years ago chose to single out a Pit. -- If a Collie goes at someone, it usually ends in 1 bite but if a Pit goes at someone it is almost impossible to pull the Pit off.  Some of these Pits owner's would say "but they have never showed aggression before, he/she is a sweet dog"!?!

How many Pit owners think Chows, Akitas, Dobermans, etc. are more vicious than Pits?  Ignorance on their part as well.

Would I ever trust a Pit?  No.  Would I make a plea to ban them?  No.  But one can not honestly state they do not do more damage than most other breeds when they attack.  Not because they are so strong but because they want to inflict a lot of pain and damage.

Maybe instead of putting your efforts into proving they are not vicious you should put your efforts in ensuring the wrong people can not own one or any other fighting dog.

You know, this past month they had a story about what people consider the most friendly, people-loving dog- the labrador- that ate a baby when adults were out of the room. At the same time there was the story about the woman who cloned her dog that saved her life and helped her open doors and get dressed...and it was a PITBULL!

Pretty ironic?

Ive taken care of some pitbull puppies while their owners were out of town and they were the sweetest dogs.

I know a pit breeder and honestly, I think that pit bulls are the sweetest dogs ever. Pretty dopey and happy, but sweeties none the less

Pit Bull were bred to be dog aggressive not human aggressive.

In the old days if a Bull and Terrier ever showed aggression they died.

They did not want human aggression in the dogs period and so it was bred out.

I look at it this way...ALL DOGS ARE CAPABLE OF DOING THE SAME THING....BITING.

Pit Bulls are not vicious but totally misunderstood, but there is always a vicious dog in EVERY breed.

I remember a time when the GSD's were in the same boat like the pit bull is now. Considered vicious and unstable.

Then it was the Rotties, then the Chows, then the Dobies.

All of these dogs at one point and time were considered vicious and not fit to live. It is a cycle...a vicious one at that.

People feel like just because they do not like the breed that everyone feels the same way...

Alright..what if I was to go around fighting to get lets say the Jack Russell Terrier banned b/c they were not bred to be family dogs but working dogs and are not tolerant of children. How many people would have a problem with that? LOTS.... no one cares until it directly effect you in some way.

People need to realize that it is not just the pit bull being banned.

Rotties, Chows, Dobies to name a few are already banned in some cities and county across America.

So evidently Pit Bulls are not the only "VICIOUS" breed facing BSL.

Pit Bulls are just owned by stupid and irresponsible people thinking they have the toughest dog on the block. People don't look at them as dogs but status symbols...which is sad.

I was in that state of mind once i thought they were miss understood. I agree some are some arent and thats a different story, im english they are band here but i had a pitbull named 'Honey' we paid £8,000 pound to the police to have her exempt (legalised) 1 week later guess what happend. she turned on my other dog (oxo). the couldnt put her down it was exempt so it lives in a kennel now never to be bought god ive never felt so much sadness to loose her but i have oxo and she has me and where just fine. the fight lasted 2 mins my dad broke his thumb seperating them oxo (cross) got a lucky escape. Pits arent for fighting there for love and they always will be.people ''say u might as well have a lion or a croc they are too dangerous'' they are dangerous but man is the biggest danger on the whole planet. i dedicated this to honey wherever she is now i rember my last words to u ''I love u girl '' then the kennels came and took her to her new home. TOGETHER WE WILL STOP PITBULL KILLING, FIGHTING AND EVENTUALLY MAN AND PITBULL WILL LIVE IN  HAMONY. JUDGE THE DEED NOT THE BREED. ONE DAY PITBULL CRUELTY WILL STOP. FULL STOP. I LOVE YOU MY PRECIOUS HONEY. YOU WILL STAY IN MY HEART FOREVER MY GIRL.

I think they are mean vicious dogs who will eat your children, run through your neighborhood foaming at the mouth attacking everything in it's site. Who would EVER want to own a pit?!

I never thought Pits were vicious. That is the saddest video ever.  I think they are just misunderstood. I will send this to my mom, who is freaked of Pits. Maybe she will change her mind. I hope so. I would have cried at this video, too, but I'm in a public library. I will cry when I get home, though. That is so sad. And I don't care if I get banned off of Y!A for what I'm about to say.

I people who are scared of Pit Bulls, support breed bans, and think they should all be destroyed.

Report me if you want, but that is my own personal opinion that I will never change. Nobody can make me. Never. Ever.

I think that they like many breeds can be taught by people to be mean, it's not the dogs usually its the owner/breeder.

I don't care what ANYONE says about any pitbull. It's all in how you raise them. You can have the most vicious golden retriever and you can have the most gentle pitbull. With all this dog fighting hype people think it's being bred into them now, but it takes a looooong time to breed traits into dogs.

Edit: Just watched the video..I NEVER cry..but I totally cried during that.

Some people get so worked up about the things they hate, they just don't leave any room for tolerance and education. It's very sad.
