  1. count me agreeing to that statement....z....

  2. Parents need to pay when damages are done .

  3. Yeah. And kids should be punished when their siblings break the law, and pets should be punished when their owners break the law, and when someone commits murder, their whole FAMILY should go to jail.... *sarcasm*

No, people are responsible for their own actions. Parents can't watch their kids 24/7, there's no way they can be responsible.

The only time a parent should be punished is in cases where they tell the kid "I'll distract the clerk and you grab some sodas and run." kind of cases.

    Otherwise, no.

  4. depends on the crime, but I think kids should be prosecuted as adults. starting at the age 9

  5. Depends on the age of the child.

  6. Um....it would depend on the age of the child...like, your kid is 6, gets hold of a gun, and kills some one purposely, then yeah, parents could be held accountable.  But, kid is like 14, gets a gun, goes to school, shoots everyone, then himself...no, it's not to be put on parents.  so, it depends.

  7. parents need to held accountable to some degree depending on the age of child and the crime committed.

  8. I am sure that our ever diligent government would only be too pleased to pass such a stupid law. However they should keep in mind that when they are scaring people out of properly disciplining their children, that it is only natural for the children to grow up with no respect for authority or the law. A properly disciplined, not beaten, child will rarely get into legal entanglements. So in short the answer is no! The government has already interfered to much!

  9. For property damage maybe, but not crazy violence unless the parents are members of some hate group.  There's no way you can hold those parents in Columbine responsible for their kids dissassociation with their peers.

  10. I think so.

  11. The parents should certainly appear in court or before a children's panel to explain why their children are going off the rails.  If they don't seem to be taking it seriously I would stop their family benefits until they shake themselves up.

  12. In principal, its a good idea! In the past, when 'children' were considered chattel property without rights as such, it worked. Now however, things are a bit different: parents can be arrested, charged, tried, convicted and punished for what in the past was considered 'discipline'. When the State gives 'children' the 'right' to say what they will or won't do because they think they have 'rights', you effectively remove from parents authority while leaving them with the responsibility. Back in the day, when a kids could feel their parents eyes upon them and knew their *** would glow so bright it could be seen from space if they did anything wrong and got caught, that idea was good! The way it is now, it's not right!

  13. When a parent raises a child, they rais them to the best of their ability. If the child decides to go out and commit a crime than that's their fault unless the parents had something to do with it, they should not be prosecuted!!!
