I don't imagine there are too many people that can make a living playing pool.  The payouts in the tournaments really aren't that much to live off of.  Most players probably supplement their tournament winnings by owning a pool hall or being a house pro at some place, but you might count that as playing pool for a living.  Even then, I wouldn't put the number higher than maybe 40 or so.  I guess that doesn't really count the hustlers and road players that can lay low and play big money games on the side though.
