  1. jlupton has got it right ... and presented it so clearly!

  2. (3/4 (grandmother who was 3/4 and 3/4) + 7/8 + 1/8) /4  = 7/16

    Unless I'm wrong.

And your mother is 3/8, and your father 1/2.

  3. I'm going to give these people false names.

My Great Grandmother was about 3/4, (on my mom's side),

Call her Alice. Her child your grandparent is 3/8, your mom is 3/16 and you are 3/32 from her

My great grandfather on my mom's side was also about 3/4,

Call him Bruce. Same math, you are 3/32 from him.

If Alice and Bruce were married, their child, one of your mother's parents, was 3/4 too. If they were on different sides, both of your mother's parents were 3/8.

on my dad's side, my Grandfather was about 7/8,

Call him Charles. From him, your dad is 7/16 and you are 7/32.

my (paternal) grandmother, to the best of my knowledge, was an 1/8,

Call her Dorothy. From her, your dad is 1/16 and you are 1/32.

    3/32 from Alice

    3/32 from Bruce

    7/32 from Charles

    1/32 from Dorothy

So, you are 14/32 or 7/16, just under half.
