Question:

How Much Coffee for the Perfect Cup from a French Press

I just bought a French press and followed the directions of one rounded tablespoon per 4 ounces of water and the coffee was like lacquer thinner -- so strong I couldn't even judge how much less to use for the next pot.

I'm using regular grind Starbucks French roast and I like a strong cup of coffee. Can anyone answer before my water boils? :-)

  1. 2 teaspoons

  2. two nice tsp or a tsp and 1/2 should do the trick...3 if you really like it strong.

  3. Use 7 grams of course ground (not drip brew grind) coffee for each 6 ounces of hot (just off the boil) water. Allow to steep 3 to 4 minutes then strain and drain.
