  1. They are very annoying for any team.  I respect diehard fans only.  I love the REDS!

  2. Like how Last Year's Rockie fans are now Rays Fans?

Ah... Bandwagon fans. Can't stand 'em.

They find their team through all kinds of stupid reasons...

Who ESPN was talking about last night(The Yankees are the best ever! ESPN told me!), Whose hat the Rapper was wearing in the latest music video(No reason I should be finding Pirates fans in Milwaukee.), Where their favorite player is playing(Lots of new Dodger fans), and more.

  3. I agree... i was an indans fan last year and still  rooting for them this year!

  4. They are a disgrace. Annoying, delusional, ignorant pests.

  5. Just because a fan is new to a team, doesn't make him a bandwagoner.  We were all new to our teams at some point.  A guy changing his loyalty every couple of years, he is.

I have no room for them except, let them go to the games and drop gobs of money, improving the financial position of the team.  That part I am OK with.  Just don't expect me to miss youi when you're gone.

I welcome new fans, so long as they intend to stay.

  6. I don't like them but as much as they get on my nerves, I just ignore them until they something wrong about the bandwagon team they jumped on & I will give you an example.  Awhile back a Red Sox fan said she started liking them after they won they won the 2003 World Series & I just corrected her & told her, she's the newset member of the Red Sox bandwagon fan club

  7. Only if they keep their distance, because they're adding to the bottom line of the team when filling seats, purchasing souvenirs/apparel, and buying food at the stands.  When they start parading around acting like they own the place and acting foolish do they start getting on the true fans's nerves.

Also, when home team "fans" claim their territory and start telling opposing fans that they don't belong at the stadium watching the game, those are actually bandwagon fans trying to start trouble and fights.

True baseball fans do welcome opposing fans in their home stadiums because we have a common bond.....  Love of the sport of baseball!

  8. A lot. Which is why I've stuck with Texas the past 12 or so years.

  9. I personally dont get affected by them. If you block/ignore them on here they go away!

  10. i live in st Louis, once worked with a guy who asked if Mark Mcgwire was good when the Cardinals traded for him, by the end of the season we had ALWAYS been a Mcgwire  fan. Same guy did the same for Kurt Warner. He followed him in arena ball-lol .....no one knew Warner was. so yes I hate bandwagoners Go Celtics, Pats and Sox! just kidding.

  11. Overall, I try not to let them bother me. The only thing that irritates me is they talk the most but have nothing of real importance to say.

  12. I cant stand them, they are f***ing annoying.

  13. I have a good reason for my 2 teams! I like the braves and dbacks because i used to like the A's and my 2 favorite pitchers got traded. I had already grown up a braves fan with my dad and then tim hudson moved there. and dan haren along with brandon webb makes me love the dbacks so much i get orgasmic!

  14. HORIBLY, go to a stadium, or a bar, or a group of guys & just listen. It is funny at first & then you just struggle to tell them how everything they just said makes no sense & they obviuosly have no idea what they are talking about.

I went to an Angel vs. Yankee game last year & heard this guy tell his wife Mariano Rivera came in to pitch & he told her this guy has a great curveball & it is hard for guys to hit, but he can throw a good changeup that will fool guys if they look for his fastball! WTF

At a Dodger vs Giants game last year, "This guy Juan Piere might win the MVP this year, he is the best player on the Dodgers this year" Totaly Serious when he said it, no joke! WTF

Angels vs Yankees. The worst is the REALLY drunk woman who isnsits on talking S**t at a game when the home team is winning& they dont know a single thing about the sport, your team sucks D**k they dont know how to score like the Packers do! :O omg, WTF WTF

  15. I feel the same way, once there team is doing bad they want to come and jump on your teams bandwagon.  but sometimes, if you really do love the game you might have to, for example: your team is kicked out of the playoffs and your left with a handful of good teams [but not as great as yours] would you either choose to miss the playoffs or just pick a team to take the whole thing?

  16. I hate the ones that leave there team when they loose, then go again when they win and say"I always liked them".

  17. I despise bandwagon jumpers, especially of the know it all variety.  I have been a Phillies fan since I was born.  And I grew up with the Phillies through the 90s.  I hate when people call me a bandwagon jumper when I talk baseball now that they are doing better.  Guys just assume that since I am female I have to be a fan because its the "right" thing to do not because I have passion for the sport.  I hate bandwagon jumpers!!

  18. Just the thing that gets to me is the fact they make true fans look bad, but besides that i dont care

  19. i am bandwagon guy, but for one reason and one reason only, i like players have favorite players, and where they go so does my allegiance. If ya dont like me rooting for your team too d**n bad, cause odds are when my favorite player gets moved so will my seat on the wagon. Deal with it. Sorry.

  20. It always sucks when you see someone jumping teams. I stay with my teams through and through. Will til the day I die.

  21. i hate them

i live in california and do you know how many yankee and red sox fans i see. TOO MANY

they all have some sort of "link" to the yankees or red sox like "my great great great x40 grandpa lived there" than i say SO WHAT YOU ONLY LIKE THEM BECAUSE THEY WIN (although yankees dont win as much as in past years)

oh yeah i forgot to mention

when you ask them their favorite players they say "derek jeter and uhh yeah just jeter uhh oh yeah a-rod is the best player ever"

  22. I'm a Red Sox fan. Have been since I started following baseball and that was way before 2004. I have to see quite a lot of bandwagon/fairweather fans every day.

They annoy me, but I've learned to accept them. Every time one of your teams gets good, fairweather fans are sure to come. It's just a fact of life. The one thing I hate about them is when they buy tickets. They don't deserve to take away tickets from loyal fans.

I could do without them, but it's just another thing to hate. If your team doesn't have fairweather fans, they're probably not very good, so I can accept them, but they won't get any respect from me.

  23. A lot you're not a real fan if you don't have towards feelings for one team only

  24. I am and have been a Rays fan since their inception.  Have endured a lot of ridicule for it, but c'mon they've stunk 'til this year so it came with the territory.

That said, yeah, bandwagoners are the worst cuz they know little to nothing about baseball or "their" team.  I was at the Rays game yesterday and could not believe the way Percival got booed for a blown save.  The guy blew his 4th save vs 24 saves and these idiots really let him have it, well now you've got me going.

  25. i'm a yankee fan, i know all about them. it annoys me how they profess their love for derek jeter or a-rod and if u ask them about any other player, or joe girardi or the steinbrenners, they're just clueless.

  26. fairweather fans suck too

I don't think its fair to just barge into another party when your party isn't doing well :(

bandwagoners irritate me because they seem to just like whatever team that wins. Or they pretend to know everything about the team when they don't.

  27. Yes i don't like it Either They got their own Teams where they live.

  28. i'm not starring this.stop asking about bandwagoners no one cares, just let em do what they want

  29. They are annoying and when I am at the game I get even more annoyed when they want to talk loud enough for the whole section to hear them, they like to spout off about history of the team and their history goes back 10 minutes.  I went to a Phillies game a few years back and the guy two rows over was professing that Millwood was the greatest starting pitcher that the team had ever had, claiming he knew the history of the team since way back...I replied that he may want to brush up on a guy named Steve Carlton and the guy looked at me with a blank look like I was talking about aliens.  People like that are annoying they need to shut up before they even start to try and conjugate a sentence.

  30. the truth is bandwagon fans, although annoying at times are good for the sport. they bring in large amounts of revenue for a sports team and allow them to get better.

i dont think its that big of a deal

been a tigers fan for years (100 plus losses in one season) however I know that without bandwagon fans we could not afford  to have a 100 plus million a year team!

  31. Who isn't annoyed by bandwagoners? They only know a few players on the team and they're usually the superstars. They break out new gear and say they've been down for the longest when in reality they really just started cheering for the team and got on because it was the "in" thing to do. And many of them don't know any of the traditions that die-hard fans have known for years.

But as much as we loathe bandwagon fans, team owners actually love them. Why? It's a new source of revenue. The more fans they have wearing gear and going to games, the better it is for their bottom line. And no matter what which team you cheer for, if they start winning, they'll come out in droves. Yankees fans dealt with them. (You may know them as '96ers, folks who became Yankees "fans" after the 1996 championship season.) Red Sox fans have 'em, too. (The infamous "Pink Hat" fans who came to Fenway during and after the 2004 season.) EVERY team has bandwagon fans when they start winning.
