Currently, the D40 with an 18-55mm lens is going for as low as $450-499.  There are also great deals with an extra 55-200mm lens for $599.  2gb sd memory cards are available for under $20, and cases are cheap and plentiful.

I just got a Nikon D60 and i LOVEEEEE it so much. I got mine at ritzcameras.com and the D40 is only $600 for 2 lenses, a bag, instructional DVDs and more. Plus free shipping.

I also recently bought a UV filter for $10 that protects the lenses from scratches as well as reduces glare for better pictures. My memory card is a 4GB and I bought it for only $25.

So with everything, you can easily get it for under $700.

Its about 468-500 dollars depending on where u buy it but u sill have to get the case and memory card so that would be about another 80-100 dollars. I recomend u getting insurance on it which is about 100 dollars. so ur looking at 600 bucks
