Im confused how much is there , because when i looked at it planes burn so much daily 24hrs a day hundreds across the globe, plus millions of cars, homes, how do we supply so much, when would we see a decline in oil that we could possibly decrease largely or comepletely deplete it?

  1. There is more supply than demand and it is nothing more than the fat cats getting richer... Planes do not burn gas they use jet fuel it is different.  Notice how prices are going back down??

    Supply is just fine

  2. New oil is being found every day.  Old finds we thought we couldn't access are being drawn out by new technologies.  The most amazing thing is that wells that were thought to have been pumped dry 40 years ago now have oil in them again.

We now know about enough oil to supply the earth for 150 years at current growth rates.  Sure, we need to explore alternatives, but we won't run out any time soon.

  3. its all a scam just people making money how are we really sure that there is even a shortage maybe the oil company owners are just saying that to make money. it wouldn't be the first time anything like that has happened

  4. It has been estimated that in the last 100 years mankind has burned up 50% of the total available oil.  It has also been estimated that at the current rate of consumption the remaining oil will last only 15-20 years at the most.  It could be as little as 10 years as some experts have theorized.

This remaining oil is going to be harder to find and extract thus raising the price.  The demand for oil is still increasing mostly in India and China where their economies are super booming and they want the symbol of the affluent life style an automobile.  More demand also means higher prices.

Unfortunately we have waited to long to turn the oil use tide.  Aided by the car manufactures, the oil companies, and a government that is paid off by oil and car companies our transition to alternative fuels may have come to late to save us from ourselves.  The ten year setback of the big electric car crush may have been to much.

Do an internet search for "peak oil" to further research the subject.

  5. The oil reserves on this planet will not be deplete for generations to come.  But that's not what the wacko liberal mass media would like you to believe.  Nuclear energy should be explored.  A handful of uranium can produce the same amount of energy as a 150 car train full of coal.
