How Much Schooling is needed to have a Major in English?

And What are some careers I can look into with an English major besides teaching or writting novels per -say?

At my university it is 128 credits (one class is almost always 3 credits, unless it's a math class, then it's 4).  You can be a news anchor, an editor, a literary critic....that's all I can think of for now. lol  I'm minoring in English! Don't let anyone talk you out of it if it's really what you want! Go for it!
