  1. Who would try to stop you?  You can only fly 100 hours a month when working for a 121 carrier, but you will work a lot more than that.  You have to get to work, preflight the aircraft, wait for the next flight, and you will have hotel stays with most carriers.  Pilots average between 10 and 17 days off a month, usually in blocks of two to four in a row.

  2. My April schedule is this...

    Block---78.50

    Credit---80.15

    Days Off---14

    TAFB---248.18  (Time Away From Base)

So I work 16 days, I have 2 single day trips, 2 two day trips, 2  four day trips, I spend 8 nights in a hotel bed, I have one full weekend off and one Sunday off.

    Questions?

FAR Part 121 pilots operating under domestic rules (flag rules--international operations are a little different) are subject to the following (a basic run down)...

*Must have at least 8 hours of rest, looking back 24 hours (this is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the no more than 16 hours of duty rule)

*24 hours off in 7 days

*no more than 30 hours in any 7 days

*no more than 100 hours in a calendar month

*no more than 1000 hours in a calendar year

  3. you can fly a maximum of 100hrs a month which is rarely attained, normally it will be around 75-85hrs. there are many restrictions regarding flight hours, off days, duty time restrictions, mandatory off days etc both regulated and agreed by the company which means you will have ample off days even though you may work alot.

  4. There is a maximum of 100 hours per month and 1000 hours per year.  This rule only applies to COMMERCIAL AIRLINE PILOTS.  If you bought a Cessna... then you could fly it all year.

  5. Depends on your airline and your contract, you sign. For instance the Airline i work for you are guarenteed 10 days off a month, and guarenteed 75 credit hours. With that said you can fly up to 34 block hours a week, and 120 Block hours a month.

  6. a lot
