How Much do professional golf caddies get paid?

Im an Honor caddie at Cherry Hills Country Club. We make up to $50 an hour. But when the 2005 US Womens Open came to the club those caddies made up to 8% which was rare most the time its a flat 250 a round with maybe 5% of winnnings if your lucky. Weekly those caddies make over 1500 with all of the practice rounds and tournaments. Plus on top of pay they are flown out to the place of the tourney and put in a hotel all at the players expense. Its a sweet deal. But dont quite your day job its extremely hard to get a pro player to want to take you places. Most the time its a close friend or a caddie thats been around the course quite a few times.

As an Evans Scholar (the Caddy Scholarship!), a typical professional caddy makes anywhere from 8-15% of what their player earns that round. And as a kid at a typical country club you can make from about $25-$250 for a round. Yes i said $250! I have made that for a single 4 hour round! Not a bad job for a kid, not to mention the loads of people you meet and the possibility to go to school for free.

2.5% of the earnings of they make the cut

5% of the earnings if they make the top 25

7.5% of the earnings if they make the top 10

10% of the earnings if they win

I dont know what they would get if they miss the cut, probably whatever the pro decided to pay them.

IDK myself I would love to caddy for Tiger Woods or Mickelson.  I am sure they make a pretty good paycheck.  Its alot more than handing him a club and letting him swing away.  Tiger's caddy makes a decent living, he is an older guy like myself..Me I am 41...

It is a % of the winnings, so it varies, and different golfers pay different rates. Most caddies are themselves accomplished golfers, playing off scratch or better.

i still cant believe them............i wish a kid like me could get paid that much.................oh well!................
