  1. My friend is actually giving lessons and had this question too!

DON'T charge super low; parents actually get mad about that.

As for prices? My friend is charging $10 for a half hour lesson and $15 for an hour. I'd suggest around $10-$15 for a half hour and $15-$20 for an hour.

  2. You can use a site like http://www.StartSwimming.com to see what other instructors in your area are charging (and to find new students).  I live in Southern California and have found this to be a great tool.

  3. Where do you live?  If it is an affluent neighborhood then you can charge 15-20 dollars a lesson for private lessons.  Also are you a good swimmer that many parents know?  This helps.  For most areas 10 a lesson is appropriate.  Are these group lessons or private or semi-private?  For private you can charge a bit more.
