How Much should I save for college?

I want to start saving up for college but I'm not sure how much I need. I'm thinking about taking the course to major in zoology. And I won't be getting a dorm room I'll be getting an aparment.

  1. You need to save every penny you can!  With the cost of college tuition these days, books, lab fees, and all the other stuff that comes with going to college, ideally, you should have started saving on the day you were born.


  2. To address your issue, don't get an apartment.  To live on campus is convenient and cheap.  If you live in an appartment you will have more bills than you think and I know you will get a room mate and what if their money come up short for a month or two then you are stuck with covering their portion.  Save your self the trouble and move on campus.  Save as much money as possible but that number amount all depends on if you want to go a state support college, private college or out of state college.  The only one that is cheap is the state support college and then it's still expensive.  I think you should take advantage of the free money from the federal goverment that is available through grants.
