  1. 10% of the tab.

  2. that is perfect

  3. $6 is 20% tips for that 30 bucks, it's sounds Great!!!!!

Most people are bad at tips, average tips should be 15-20% or more, if the service, restaurant, or the food is great.............it all depends. It also depend on what type of restaurant u dine in.

i always tip by how much i eat, $8-10 tips, that if i eat around $50, because sometimes we dine out and eat more than that amount and if u only tips $8-10, that's not enough. Some servers they all share tips while other keep their own, different restaurant does it differently.

  4. You sound like a proper tipper to me.

  5. It's considered common practice to leave 15%. So that would be 4.50 if you have a thirty dollar bill. What you give them is plenty and much appreciated.

  6. Well first the state you are eating in has nothing to do with the service you had while dining out.If you had a 30.00 tab and want to leave the standard 20% then that would be around $6.25.I tip on my own scale which is way higher because I am a waitress and can relate to so many things about the job. Most people tip very nicely and if you really enjoy your job it is a pleasurable, fun time, and the tips are great.Tip if they deserve it but dont make your state a factor in it.You sound like a very nice person who tips very well.

  7. The standard Tips are:

    15%  for average service

    18%  Above average Service

21%+ Excellent over the top Service

Be Diplomatic some Wait staff actually like doing the work.

  8. I've served tables and $6 on breakfast/lunch and $8-10 on dinner is perfect.  People are jerks and don't realize that servers' ONLY form of income is tips.  Sure, they get an hourly rate of usually $2.13/hour, but that all gets taken in taxes and the check comes back as $0.  ALWAYS leave a minimum of 15%, but be generous with any amount over 20% of the tab BEFORE TAX.

And if your server is just horrible e.i. obviously messes up your order, forgets drinks, doesn't check on you or your meal, just let them know that you're leaving 15%, but that they should try harder to receive better tips.

  9. 15%,,,do the math

  10. just prefect !

  11. always 20%

  12. The general rule of thumb across the country is 15% for adequate service, 20% for good service.  It doesn't matter the time of day, this is the rule.  You should tip on the total AFTER tax and most servers appreciate calculating the tip BEFORE any coupon or discount, although it isn't generally expected.  For a cocktail waitress or bartender, generally $1 per drink is adequate, $2 if you really enjoy their service.

  13. 30 bucks.... I would have left $5 for average service, $8 for great service. Should not depend on the time of day but the service you receive.

  14. Always at least 20 percent of the subtotal.  20 percent is the new 15 percent.

  15. id leave about an 18% tip

  16. You are a very considerate tipper.

I can't afford to tip big [I'm a cook at a resta; ain't life funny!]

so I rarely dine out, but 15-20% is a nice tip at any time of day.

Don't be afraid to tip smaller if the server is rude. I can tolerate a little less-than-stellar service if the server is nice and sincerely trying to plz. If the food itself is crappy, we can't blame the server [unless it sat in the window and got cold coz the server was lackdaisical]

  17. Cory D is wrong! If you don't receive the service you deserve or have an unattentive waiter than in no way are you obligated to leave 15%. They chose this line of service why am I obligated to support them? If you can't do your job properly why should you be rewarded?

You're tip schedule is generous and right on for great service.
