How Much to fix this TV i got for FREE?

A friend gave mw a Mitsubishi 56" HDTV. The Model is WS 55819. I need new picture tubes. How much to have some one to fix it. Is it cheeper to buy the tubs first or do it all at once????

I got the TV for free so i would think it would be cheeper to fix then buy one now a days. The TV is from 2001. HELP please!!!!

  1. Honestly, it'll cost about as much to have it repaired as it would just to buy a new one if not more. And you could probably find an LCD the same size for about the same price as it would cost to fix it. Don't buy a plasma.


  2. By tubes I'm guessing you're talking about the "guns" or projectors. Those old projection TV's have 3, one for red blue and yellow.This is basically what displays the picture on the screen, I had to replace one of them a years back in my tv....for one..I Paid $200. So you're looking at around $600. This was back a few yours ago, so maybe it's gotten cheaper, I'm not sure. Check with a local TV repair shop.

  3. If you get and i would recommend a tv repair man to buy the bulb and i should cost around 200 to 300 dollars.
