How Old do you have to be to use AR-15?

I am 16 and i have never used a gun before but i want to go into the marines when i am 18 and want to be a Sniper but you have to score perfect with the M16 or the M4 so i want some training with it before i go so what kind of classes do i have to take and age to use a AR-15 i dont know if the ages and rules are different for each state so i live in WA, Oh and do i have to be a certain age to buy one i think you have to be 18 but is it possible to have a parent buy it even if they dont have a weapons liscence and they can just hand if over to me they wont be shooting it so i dont know?

It depends on your state. For example, in Florida, where I am, the minimum age is 13 with adult supervision, 18 without. 18 to own a rifle/shotgun as well. However, you can't own a fully automatic weapon such as an M16 or M4 without being in the military or having a special permit.

Unless your state has more stringent restrictions, the legal minimum age for owning a rifle or shotgun is 18. There's also a requirement that you be at least 21 to own a handgun. (These age limits are based on federal gun laws and I'm not certain that states can preempt them with tougher restrictions. It's entirely possible that they could.)

You should be able to shoot a rifle under adult supervision before you turn 18 but I'd suggesting checking with locals to determine that for sure. Any shooting range should be able to provide you a definitive answer regarding your particular state's minimum age requirements.

I'd say no, That would be me. I've been wrong before. Now I Think you have to have parental guidance to shoot a gun on your own. But you can not own it. You can do what I would do. The gun will be in "Their name"

but you have full control of it. That would be the same thing for a car. They can take it away at any time. Of course  NO you may not by a gun. And yeah they would have to have a liscence. But just say this to them "Hey Ill pay for the gun, and for the liscence for you to buy one" and a good target practice is...well..Hunting..
