There was good news and bad news for Mallorca fans in the statement coming from the President of the board. The good news is that the board has finally rectified the appointment of Joaquin Caparros as the head coach of the football squad. This news is followed
by parting of ways of the Nadal family.
Discussing the distressing news first, the departing of the Nadal family is the second big blow to face the beleaguered club in the week after the resignation of talismanic coach Michael Laudrup. The family of tennis superstar Rafael Nadal will no longer
be a part of the club’s administration and have resigned from the board of directors.

He will also step down from the board, citing incompatibility between the management and his current position as manager.
While battle for supremacy in the board room starts, former Athletic Bilbao coach Joaquin Caparros will be looking to fulfil the void left by the ousted Dane. This was announced at the end of the convened meeting. He is believed to command a salary of 25
thousand Euros a week and his contract will run until the end of the 2011-12 season.
Majority shareholder, Serra Ferrer stated: “We have reached a deal in principal with Joaquin Caparros to become Coach of Real Mallorca”. “We hope to iron out the fine details on Tuesday”.
