  1. First off,  there teaching you that Global warming is real??  Where do you go to school and when did that start? When are kids going to start questioning authority like they used to.

  2. The effects of recycling reach worldwide, and save enormous amounts of energy.  For example, when mines in Sweden or Australia are tapped for aluminum, about half of what is taken out will yield aluminum oxide.  Out of that mass of aluminum oxide, the usable alumnum that is created out of it will create only about half that mass.  By that equation, for every ton (2000 lb) that is taken out of the ground, only one-quarter of that will provide the aluminum we use for cans, foil, aircraft, and countles other products.

At some point in this process, the large amounts of material must be transported overses to the US and other countries.  This kind of shipping usually uses diesel fuel, a fossil fuel which contributes to global warming.

By recycling, we use the materials which we already possess in pure form.  For aluminum, this saves huge amounts of energy in processing and shipping, because the materials are already pure and can be obtained nearby.  The source of this energy would have come in forms which are major contributors of global warming, such as coal, petroleum, expelling non-organic chemicals into the atmosphere a.  The reduction in these amounts, made possible by recycling rather than mining, reduces the amounts of pollution, and reduces the effects of global warming.

  3. well first of all man made global warming is a myth, i cant believe they teach that in school.  i guess the answer she is looking for though is obviously that we are not creating so much and are just re-using old stuff.  just talk about that for 500 words i guess.

  4. Okay, there is no such thing as global warming. Well, there is, but its not happening now. The only thing that makes the Earth hot is the Sun. As of 5:40 PM, it is 29 degrees Farenheight, and is 21 degrees Farenheight! Youd think a more populated place would generate more heat, but NOOO!

Also, this winter has been the coldest in 40 years! At least 10 centimeters of the polar ice has regained!

  5. global warming is the biggest lie ever the government made it up to scare littel kids at night! Bill you need to just forget about the extra cred. my teacher is probally trying to see if any of us make stuff up. And some teachers might take over or under at least 10 words and if you go to swift creek meet me by the 6(th) grade hallway. I will have a black and whight camo backpack

  6. Rectcling helps reduce global warming by reducing the need to create new materials and ship them across the world.  by recycling, local manufacturing plants can buy the recycled materials and turn them into new products.  taking the local recycled products instead of products abroad helps reduce CO2 emissions from transportation

  7. It does not. It is a popular myth that recycling reduces global warming. Recycling reduces the volume of trash going to the land fill, so it won't fill up too fast. It also can keep some toxic chemicals in certain discarded items, like used motor oil, from entering the environment.

But global warming can only be reduced by using less coal, oil, and natural gas to produce energy, and recycling does not do that. Some people claim that recycling saves the energy used to make new products, but in most cases that is not true. It IS true for metals, and scrap metal is the biggest and most successful type of recycling. It has been done voluntarily for centuries because it saves money. But most other recycling simply does nothing to reduce global warming.

But if you write that in your paper you risk getting an F because it is an unpopular truth. It is sad but true that today "An Inconvenient Truth" is safe to talk about but "An Unpopular Truth" is not.
