How Should I Start the Series "Left Behind"?

I just found out about this series and I want to read it but I don't know how to start the series. Should I read it in chronological order starting with The Rising or should I read it by when it was released starting with Left Behind? Or does it even matter which of the two I start with?

The Rising is a prequel, so it doesn't necessarily matter if you read that before the regular series. However, in Left Behind you don't know - at first - who the antichrist is, so my personal preference would be to read the prequel after the series.

3. Nicolae: The Rise of Antichrist (1997)

4. Soul Harvest: The World Takes Sides (1998)

6. Assassins: Jerusalem, Target: Antichrist (1997)

7. The Indwelling: The Beast Takes Possession (2000)

8. The Mark: The Beast Rules the World (2000)

9. The Desecration: Antichrist Takes the Throne (2001)

10. The Remnant (2002)

11. Armageddon: The Cosmic Battle of the Ages (2003)

12. Glorious Appearing (2004)

These are the two books in the "Before They Were Left Behind" series:

1. The Rising: Antichrist Is Born (2005)

2. The Regime (2005)

I don't think it matters. I read Left Behind first but it really doesn't matter.

start with the very first one. not any of the prequels because they were written after.
