How Strict Are They On Drinking In Cancun, Mexico? UPDATED

I will be 16 almost 17 when we go to cancun

I probably look about 17 also

Will i be able to drink at the Royal Carribean resort? without a problem?

Do they accept certain Ids from your home state in the U.S as an id?

Some all inclusives are very strict on the drinking age (some of them for security reasons), and in most cases the hotel staff will give you an underage bracelet right at your arrival. US ids would be accepted if they shown your age.

But dont worry about that, it is really easy to get alcohol in most bars, clubs or stores in cancun..... Just be nice with the bartender and you will get two beers in a second (Only applies if you are a girl, otherwise, you will get your nose bleeded).

After that, if you still have the idea of getting some alcohol at your hotel to get along with friends..try this:

1.- Every hotel has a welcome party and they bring free cheap tequila for their guests......my recommendation is: whenever you here the party is on..just run and get into the dancing line, open your mouth, close your eyes and catch all the tequila you can....please repeat this procedure as much as you can (dont forget to act like a desparate alcoholic person)...

or

2.- Go to the Supermarkets in downtown (ask for Chedraui or Wall Mart) and buy some Juice, Beers and Liquors. It will be cheaper and they usually dont ask for your age / ID. Back on your hotel try to hide the liquor in a dark purse / beach bag..........run to your room and get stupidly drunk.

Have fun....but please just be carefull and have some respect for the other guests vacation.
