How Strict is the bowery ballroom on age?

I want to take a friend who is visiting from florida to a show tommorow night at bowery ballroom nyc. I was wondering does anyone know how strict they are age wise because it is an 18 plus show and she isnt 18 yet shes 16. I was hoping if i explain to the bouncer we might get a shot, any insight??

Not going to happen...just about everyone gets carded and the rules are strictly enforced...your friend is a liability to any club serving alcohol.

Sorry kiddo, but no dice.  

Bouncers only care about a couple of things

1-Enforcing the rules

2- Stopping anything that threatens licences.  If a fire inspector or undercover agent were to find your friend w/o a valid ID, then the club could face a stiff penalty or loss of liquor licence.

Don't take it personally, they won't do it for ANYONE (not even their own kids)
