Great Depression hit Ireland hard at the time, and overall the city's population became poorer, the Irish Civil War still had a lasting imprint on the nation and there were sporadic terrorist activities in Dublin. The population remained stale and did not grow much since World War 2. Overall this time Dublin was marked by slow growth and unremarkable economic growth.
