How To Connect 360 to pc and xbox live?

Question

My set up:

phone line to computer downstairs which sends a wireless connection up stairs to my pc.

my xbox is next to my pc so i don't want to buy the wireless connection when i could just use the ethernet cable.

i've tried bridging the 2 but then my internet dose not work on my pc.

so before i go and my xbox live should i get the connection or is there software which enables it to form a link between pc and xbox.

also any web sites which explains connecting them up and is not the xbox fourms would be appreciated

Connecting to your PC to use 'ICS' (internet connection sharing) really doesn't work well.

You should buy an ethernet cable and plug this from your xbox directly into you router (not pc)

If you want to use your pc to send media to your Xbox such as media player, you can still do this over a router. The instructions are on the Xbox itself and included in the manual.
