  1. If you look on the back of the satelite receiver, you should see an input for "CABLE IN" or "ANT IN". All you'll need to do then is to s***w your regular cable into this input. Since you already have your sat. cable (coming from outside) screwed into the IF port, then you just need your "OUT TO TV" connection running to your tv.

Now when you want to watch cable tv, just turn the satelite receiver power off. Select whatever channel you want, using your tv remote, however, when you want to watch sat. tv again, be sure to put the tv back on channel 3 or 4.

  2. 2points! thanks :)

  3. Does your satellite receiver have any other outputs other than coax?  If so, does your TV have an input that matches?  If they do, the input/out put will be a group of three color coded RCA jacks.  If they match in color and lables, get a cable that matches and connect them together with that cable.  Leave the regular cable attatched to the coax connector.  Then you should be able to switch "Input" from your TV remote.

    EDIT

Your receiver and/or your television owners manual or "Quick Start Guide" should have diagrams to show you how to connect the outputs of one to the inputs of the other.  If you don't have them, visit the website of the manufacturers, look for their "Support" area.  You should be able to view or order owner's manuals from there.
