Question:

How To Fight a Traffic Ticket?

I recently received a ticket for Failure to Obey A Stop Sign. If I plead Not Guilty, and go to court, do I have to pay Court Costs, regardless of the outcome. Do they have videotape of me rolling thru the stop sign at 5 mph?

  1. its called hire a lawyer

appeal til the court gets tired of the case or the officer can not show up and you win

works for criminal defense lawyers as well as traffic violations

OJ had enough money to beat a murder case

  2. Court costs are included in the ticket.  It should not cost you anything to fight a ticket - even if you are found guilty.  How would we know if they have you on videotape?  If you are guilty, you probably should not fight it.  (Disclaimer - my answer applies to where I live, and I cannot guarantee that it is the same where you life.  You can call the phone number on your ticket for precise information.)

  3. Depending on where you live, they may have surveillance. Where I live, they set up video cameras on top of traffic lights so they can. I wouldn't advise fighting this ticket. Plead guilty, pay the fee, and stomach some points. That's just how our justice system works today. Unless you have some connections to cops who could possibly get you out of the ticket, I'd advise you to just save yourself the trouble and plead guilty.

  4. Don't pay the ticket outright - go to the court date on the ticket. (Where I live) they let you meet with the district attorney before court so you can make a plea agreement - usually dropping the points and giving you a lower $ to pay.
