How To Fix A Locking Door Problem?

help my toilet door locks automatically when it gets shut and if you try to open it when its locked it wont open and you need to use something thin like a card to open it any ideas on how to fix this door problem?

Some bathroom locks work like this; lf your k**b does not have a turn tab on the bathroom side of the lock to lock and unlock the k**b, it may be the type that you push in the k**b in and turn to lock and unlock. Use some graphite on the backset,and the lock itself. You just might need a new lock because it sounds like the metal piece has worn,and is slipping (Inside where it turns to lock). But try the graphite first. Byee

Either the lock mechanism is worn or it's getting caught in the striker plate, or both.

Replace the lockset and check the alignment, re-hang the door if needed to line up the striker plate correctly.
