How To Gain Weight In A Healthy Way

I am 15 years old male, 16 in a few weeks, about 65 inches tall, and I weight around 97 pounds. For most of my life I have been very underwiehgt, but healthy. I want to start gaining weight, but nothing I am doing seems to help. My goal is to be at least 110 as soon it is possible to be. If anyone knows what I can be doing to gain weight with out taking any weight gaining pills or powders, please let me know.

  1. Lots of Milk.  You need a ton of protein, and just enough fat.

    eat more meat in combination with workouts( power training)

  3. Check out http://www.scrawnytobrawny.com.  The bottom line is that you're going to have to consume a lot of calories and also be willing to exercise to make sure the new weight goes on as muscle and not fat.  It takes dedication but you'll get results.

  4. The key ingredient to gaining muscle mass is to add lots of PROTEIN to your daily diet. You should have 1.0-1.5 grams of protein for each pound you weigh. Protein helps your body to build lean muscle after your workout. Speaking of workout, I would start with simple toning exercises (low weight/more reps) to get your muscles used to being worked. After about 2 weeks you can go to the strengthening exercises (high weight/low reps). This will break down your muscles fast and with all the protein in your diet, when they heal it will be solid lean muscle mass.

When I decided I wanted to gain extra weight, I started drinking Ensure drinks between meals.  I would drink one or two of them a day.  the ensure plus are designed for healthy weight gain.  they're just nutritional shakes, a lot of elderly people drink them to keep them from wasting away when they are too sick to eat real food.  I gained about 10 pounds in  2 or 3 months, and got to the weight I wanted to be at.  good luck!
