a5 is half the size of a4. just do the box on half of the page

Why don't you go to File - Page Setup and then look for the page size and select A5 because then the page would be A5 so you don't have to bother with text boxes

Re size the text box.

draw a text box and then right click on it and choose "format textbox" then click on the size tab and enter the size of box as the size of A5 in millimeters (cant remember off the top of my head).
