How To Improve my Shooting Range in Basketball

Hey I need help... I am a pretty good shooter (Ray Allen like... hehe). I do all sorts of off the screen shots, I could also shootover defenders. My BIG problem is at the 3 point line i find it hard to shoot, and it seems that my midrange shot is different from my 3 point shot.. help!!!!

  1. well first off how can you be Ray Allen like if you have a problem at the 3 point line?? lol.. and im a very good 3 point shooter at a Division 1 high school. and what i do is pushups, ab workouts, and leg exercises daily. I've never really had a problem with shooting 3's other than my form.. but that was quickly fixed.. =] lol. and do arm workouts (lifting, pushups, etc.) and then go out and shoot up some shots and see if this has improved your range..but remember.. when you shoot alot of your strength comes from your legs!! hope i could help ya.


  2. Do not listen to these people who say improve your strength...I have seen 9 year olds hit 3's who can't even bench the bar...

    With that said, the main thing is your FORM. Some forms give you more range then others. Try copying some of your favorite NBA players (Dirk, Ray, Redd ect.) and see what that does for you.

    Also, a shooting coach will help a lot and shoot a good amount of shots DAILY so you can improve your consistency.

  3. I don't know, but maybe take a video of yourself taking a shot from mid range, and three point line, and see what you're doing wrong on your shots, and correct the problem. That's just my two cents.

  4. i agree with the guy above me, strength doesn't really matter, you need to improve your hand eye coordination, just focus in on the basket and follow through. Hope i helped =D

  5. you need to get stronger, try doing pushups everyday before you go to bed
